Joe "Diamond Dude" Campos
Hometown: Ozone Park, NY
Birthday: December 24 (Just like JC… coincidence? We think not.)
Title: Resident Gem Wizard / Human Jewelry Scale / “How do I know you again?” Detective
Meet Joe Campos, better known around here as Diamond Dude because when it comes to jewelry, he shines brighter than a blue sapphire (which just so happens to be his favorite gemstone).
Joe started in the jewelry business the day after the 1977 NYC blackout. That’s right, while the rest of the city was recovering, Joe was already busy making things sparkle. His first gig? Oh, just a casual 13-year stint at Cartier International.
Joe is passionate about EVERYTHING—his work, his food, his Mets, his Vikings, and most importantly, figuring out how he knows you. If you’ve ever been to New York, walked by New York, or even watched a movie set in New York, Joe probably knows your cousin’s neighbor’s friend’s barber. Just go with it.
Currently residing in Margate with his fiancée, Joe still brings NYC energy wherever he goes. He works through sickness, pain, and even Mets losing streaks. (Now that’s dedication.)
Quick Facts About Joe:
- Hobbies: Bowling, fixing cars, connecting the dots of your family tree
- Favorite Food: Italian. All of it. No need to be specific.
- Baseball Bond: Raised his kids on the sacred art of baseball fandom
- Superpower: Can guess the weight of jewelry within 1-2 grams. (Seriously, he’s a walking scale.)
- Loves: Jewelry, blue sapphires, and telling you how he once knew your uncle from Queens
If you ever need a gemstone weighed, a bracelet sized, or your ancestry traced back to Joe’s old deli in Ozone Park, he’s your guy. And remember, he’s not just JC… he’s the MVP of the jewelry game.
